Kobe Airport, popularly known as Marine Air, opened in February 2006. Carriers ANA and SKY offer regular service to seven major domestic destinations, linking Tokyo, Sapporo, Ibaraki, Nagasaki, Kumamoto, Kagoshima, and Okinawa to Kobe with travel times ranging from one to three hours. Kobe Airport is just five minutes from Kobe Medical Industry City via the Port Liner, a new transportation system that links Sannomiya, Port Island, and Kobe Airport. Twelve daily flights to Haneda Airport in Tokyo help give business travelers the mobility they need. And Kansai International Airport, just 30 minutes away via the Kobe/Kansai International Airport Bay Shuttle, serves as a gateway to business destinations worldwide.

RAIL
It takes about 20 minutes to travel from the Shinkansen (bullet train) terminal at Shin-Kobe Station to Sentan Iryo Center Mae Station via the Kobe Municipal Subway and the Port Liner. The Port Liner also provides exceptional access to Sannomiya in the heart of Kobe (12 minutes) and Kobe Airport Station, from which travelers can connect to the airport terminal (5 minutes). JR provides speedy access from Sannomiya to other destinations in the Kansai region, including Osaka (20 minutes) and Kyoto (50 minutes).
ROAD
Located just 5 minutes from interchanges on the Hanshin Expressway that serve traffic coming from both Osaka and Okayama, Port Island benefits from its close proximity to a national network of expressways including the Chugoku and Meishin Expressways. The Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, itself a tourist destination, provides convenient access from Shikoku, while the Hanshin Expressway Gulf Line makes travel to Kansai International Airport by car a fast trip.

Since the construction of Japan’s first container port at the Kobe Port, the city has continued to develop its ability to accommodate containerized shipping, earning a reputation as one of the best such facilities in the world. Port Island Phase II brought the opening of a variety of facilities, including six high-standard container berths situated in 15 meters of water and Kobe Harbor Polytechnic College. Port Island has been designated the Kobe Port Trading Area (62 hectares) of the Shanghai and Yangtze Trade Promotion Project.
